Is anyone going swimming and/or seeing a movie this weekend?
A schoolboy has died after collapsing at the end of a 12-hour gaming session, according to Russian newspapers. The boy, aged 12 and named only as Sergei, lived in the Yekaterinburg, western Russia. He was allowed to visit the local computer club by his parents as a reward for achieving good grades in school. He regularly played for 10-12 hours at a time without a break, according to a club employee, who told Russian newspapers: "When this boy came last time, he felt quite good and played for [a long time], almost 12 hours.
"Then suddenly he fell on the floor and convulsed. We called an ambulance immediately, doctors arrived fast and took him to a hospital."
The boy was diagnosed as having suffered an epileptic seizure after he displayed unusual behaviour and failed to recognise his parents. He was put on a ventilator and died a week later, with the cause of death listed as stroke.
“Brain haemorrhage took place due to sustained emotional stimulation of the brain. The boy had overworked," said Alexei Sulimov, a spokesperson for Yekaterinburg hospital.
“He was practically dying in that computer games club, but he still continued to play. This was the result of emotional stress because he was obsessed with the games.
"Apart from his obsession with computer games he was a healthy kid and there was no reason why he should not have had a long and healthy life," Sulimov said.

Bush Quotes
George W. Bush's reputation isn't in having a stellar command of the English language. Here are some examples to concrete this reputation, and frankly, they are royal screw ups...
"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country." ...George W. Bush, Jr.
"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." ...George W. Bush, Jr.
"Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"Mars is essentially in the same orbit... Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 8/11/94
"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/15/95
"I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy - but that could change." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 5/22/98
"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 12/6/93
"Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 11/30/96
"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"The future will be better tomorrow." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"We're going to have the best educated American people in the world." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/21/97
"People that are really very weird can get into sensitive positions and have a tremendous impact on history." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr. to Sam Donaldson, 8/17/93
"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"Public speaking is very easy." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr. to reporters in 10/9
"I am not part of the problem. I am a Republican" ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
"When I have been asked who caused the riots and the killing in LA, my answer has been direct & simple: Who is to blame for the riots? The rioters are to blame. Who is to blame for the killings? The killers are to blame." ...George W. Bush, Jr.
"Illegitimacy is something we should talk about in terms of not having it." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 5/20/96

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/18/95
"The American people would not want to know of any misquotes that George Bush may or may not make." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"[It's] time for the human race to enter the solar system." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.
XD Wed, Jun. 15th, 2005, 09:12 am schools out !!!
School is finally out for summer. Here is an overview of the teachers and courses: Math (Mr. Ho): Mr. Ho was not a bad teacher or an exceptional teacher. He was just mediocre. His tests were awfully hard, and he always screwed me up with his homework checks. Term 3: 98 Final: have to wait for final exam to be marked. Hopefully 97 :) French (Mme. Roy): Mme. Roy still doesn't know my name. Her tests were really easy in term 2 and 3. Better for her students! :) term 3: 95 Final: 92 or 93 PE (Mr. Magrotidis): Mr. M was a really fun teacher. I love the dodgeball games I played in class. To the amusement of the class, he always threatened to beat up Ben. :D term 3: 86?? Final: 86?? Socials (Mrs. Hall): Mrs. Hall was the best teacher this year, and I did pretty well in her class. Too bad she's leaving for the new school. The only bad thing about socials is that Mrs. Pankratz is teaching 10/11 next year. O_o term 3: 100 Final: 99 Media arts (mr. Varro): my crappiest class this year. He doesn't like giving out high marks. But overall a fun teacher and fun class. term 3: 77 Final: 79 :( TPE (Mrs. Lenger): I was really scared of her in term 1 because I didn't do much of her homework. But in term 3, i did really well in her class, lol. Her projects were alot of hard work but very fun as well. term 3: 96 Final: 91 Science (Mr. Edgar): Mr. Edgar is the exact opposite of what a model teacher should be. He is unorganized, marks inconsistently, unfair, and lazy. Lots of people are pissed at him, what a surprise. That pretty sums it up. term 3: 100? Final: 98 English (Mr. Terpening): Mr. Terpening is a really good and nice teacher. But it is pretty awkward between him and I because I always hand in my homework late. :( term 3: 83-85 probably Final: 85?? I shall leave you with these weird pictures: Elvis with his present (the big pink thing) :D Elvis :)
The Awards Ceremony today was fun. Notable points:
1. Allison won like 5 awards. O_o
2. So did Nini.
3. Nini won the academic award. Big surprise.
4. Mr. Per kept saying 'Nina' instead of 'Nini'
5. They called up the math geeks all at once. (Connor got like 4 math awards plus a book and medal) O_o
6. Stan won Male athlete award (congratz man :D)
Then we went to French, where we watched Troy - with many nude scenes.
Lunch - talking with Yugen and Silviu. Accidently drew a man's privates on a piece of paper.
Swimming - fun, kept splashing chlorine-laden water into Derek's eyes.
Socials - watched movie. Found out that I still have to do 2 assignments. noone can skip because there is a quiz on the last block of the last day of school.

The week of school is supposed to be relaxing righ- WRONG !!! Teachers are still bombarding me with homework and exams. I can't wait until school ends, at which time I can finally rejoice and relish the freedom. But until then, more staying up to do. O_o In other news, I got this weird avatar. I think it shows 2 people fighting with sticks of some sort but I might be wrong. I shall leave you with this screenshot of Battlefield 2 installed on someone's computer. Muahahahhaa. Some Pecs/Details: the PlayStation 3, will use Blu-Ray discs as its media format. The discs can hold up to six times as much data as current-generation DVDs. It will also support CR-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats. It also confirmed the machine would be backward-compatible all the way to the original PlayStation. It will also have slots for Memory Stick Duo, a SD slot, and a compact flash memory slot. It will also sport a slot for a detachable 2.5 inch HDD somewhat similar the Xbox 360's. Out of the box, the PS3 will have the capability to support seven Bluetooth controllers. It will also have six USB slots for peripherals--four up front and two in the back. Sony also laid out the technical specs of the device. The PlayStation 3 will feature the much-vaunted Cell processor, which will run at 3.2 Ghz, giving the whole system 2.18 teraflops of overall performance. It will sport 256mb XDR main RAM at 3.2 Ghz, and have 256MB of GDDR VRAM at 700mhz. Sony also unveiled the PS3's graphics chip, the RSX "Reality Synthesizer based on Nvidia technology. The GPU will be capable of 128bit pixel precision, 1080p resolution, some of the highest HD resolution around. The RSX also has 512mb of graphics render memory and is capable of 100 billion shader operations and 51 billion dot products per second. It also has over 300 million transistors, larger than any processor available commercially today. It will be manufactured using the 90nm process with 8 layers of metal. The RSX is more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra video cards, which would cost roughly $1000 total if bought today. To show off the PlayStation 3's graphical brawn, Sony showed several game demos, including an Unreal 3 tech demo of what appeared to be Unreal Tournament 2007. In what must come as a relief to developers, Epic Games' Tim Sweeney was on hand to vouch for the PS3, saying it was "easy to program for" and that Epic had received its first PS3 hardware two months ago. He proved the tech demo was real time by showing it again and manipulating the camera and zooming in. The PlayStation 3 will also sport some hefty multimedia features, such as video chat, internet access, digital photo viewing, digital audio and video more pics: http://media.ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614619/imgs_1.htmlLooks nice :P Tue, May. 3rd, 2005, 05:24 pm
Lol, here is an excerpt from a webpage on black hawk down:
Up the alley, Nelson saw a man with a weapon ride out into the open - on a cow. There were about eight other men around the animal, some with weapons. Nelson didn't know whether to laugh or shoot. In an instant, he and the rest of the Rangers opened fire. The man on the cow fell off, and the others ran. The cow stood stupefied.
Just then, a Blackhawk slid overhead and opened up with a minigun. The cow literally came apart. Great chunks of flesh flew up. Blood splashed. When the minigun stopped and the helicopter's shadow passed, what had been the cow lay in awful, steaming pieces. Fri, Apr. 29th, 2005, 11:38 am quizzes!!!

You Know You're Addicted to LiveJournal When... |
If you can't access the site, you have a minor freak out - and a major case of hitting reload.
You found yourself composing journal entries during dates, movies, even sex!
When you're out, you suddenly think of a witty reply to a comment somebody made to you... several days ago. You actually call it LJ and not Livejournal. Check.
You've downloaded some sort of LJ program which has only the purpose of making entries easier to write without going on the site manually.
You consider it a great offense if someone deletes you off their friend's list.
The first thing you do every day when you go online is check your friends journals - even before checking your email.
You actually paid money for a few extra pictures with a full account when you could actually just alternate pics when you want to for your screen icons.
When your friends ask what's new, you get mad at them because you already wrote it in your LJ and they didn't check it yet.
You have put more time into LJ than all your assignments for the semester.
You have more friends on LJ than in real life.
You've met at laest 50% of your LJ friends.
You can't seem to call your friends by their real names - only LJ names will do.
You've fallen in love with someone you met on LJ.
You have posted about a party or get together on your LJ... and random strangers showed up.
You are guilty of traveling more than an hour to meet someone with LiveJournal. (Extra points for traveling five hours or more)
You've written a protected entry about one of your LiveJournal friends. (Extra points if they eventually found out about it)
You have written posts to notify people you're going to sleep.
You talk about your LJ friends to your real life friends all the time... like they're a part of your group.
You've created a LJ community, and people actually post in it.
You've been recognized in real live by a fellow LJ'er.
You have friended someone because of their LiveJournal icon.
You have "pity friends" on your list, who you would defriend if you could.
You've pimped one of your friends on journal, trying to get people to friend him / her.
Instead of doing research, you post difficult questions on your LiveJournal.
Your pets all have their own LiveJournals.
You know, right now, how many people have friended you (without peeking).
You've stopped being friends with someone in real life because of something they've said on LJ.
You're guilty of posting sexy or nude pictures to get more people to friend you.
You have consoled yourself after a horrible day thinking "At least this will make a great LJ post"
You're jealous of people who have more friends and / or comments than you.
You have written a really great, solid post - only to be disappointed by the lack of good comments.
You're guilty of commenting excessively to get more traffic to your journal.
You've deleted a post a few minutes (or hours) after you've written it, because it seemed lame in retro spect.
You give shout outs to all your LJ friends on their birthdays.
You have an additional, secret journal that hardly anyone knows about.
You've broken up with someone - or ended a friendship - soley via LiveJournal.
You have gotten mean anonymous comments (bonus points for figuring out who it was via their IP)
You've been reported (or reported someone) to LJ Abuse.
You've been featured on LJ Drama.
You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are LJ addicts. | haha so true
You Know You're Addicted to Video Games When... |
Your wife tells you that you are, and you two kids; Mario, and Sonic; agree with her.
Whenever something bad happens you reach for the pause button.
You can microwave and eat a pizza pop using only your feet.
You've spent so much time playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 -- you actually taught youself how to skateboard.
You've worn out the buttons in the elevator of your apartment.
The only joystick you play with anymore is plugged in to your Xbox.
You've decided you won't go outside anymore due to the 'tacky graphics, poor sound and low playability.'
You've moved your PS2 into the bathroom -- just in case you make it to the next level on Vice City.
Your hands are so gnarled from gripping the controller, you can't even tie your shoes.
You ask your doctor how many lives you have left.
You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to video games. | Mon, Apr. 25th, 2005, 09:50 pm pascal
